Facial fillers can achieve very beautiful and natural results that suit you and look like you!
What are dermal fillers?
Fillers are injectable gels that are placed under the skin with a thin needle or cannula. The gel gives volume and hydration to the skin. It can also accentuate certain features, such as striking cheekbones, plump lips and a chiseled jawline. Most fillers are made from Hyaluronic Acid, which is a naturally occurring substance, that hydrates and plumps the skin. The other fillers we use are “collagen stimulators”, such as Ellanse. These have the added advantage of building natural collagen over time to produce beautiful volume as well as firmness and lifting of the skin.
By using different types of fillers in strategic places, we can achieve very beautiful and natural results that suit you and look like you! You should be able to walk out of clinic, looking fresh, healthy and beautiful…. as if nothing happened.
What are fillers used for?
Dermal filler is a very useful tool and can be used for a wide range of applications, depending on your particular area of concern. The most popular treatments are facial contouring for cheeks and jawlines, lip enhancements and, of course, nose correction. However, fillers can also be very useful in less obvious places – scar reduction, facial symmetry, skin rehydration.
How long do dermal fillers last?
All fillers that we use are safe and temporary. Hyaluronic Acid fillers have been shown to remain in the skin for many years, however they do break down naturally over time. This means that the results of treatment will change slowly and diminish over time. The typical interval for repeating fillers treatments is around one year.
Are dermal fillers good for the skin?
As we get older, we start to lose the volume, elasticity and hydration in our skin. This is due to a reduction in the amount of collagen, elastic and natural Hyaluronic Acid. This results in conditions such as reduced volume, furrows, hollowing and wrinkles. Dermal fillers deliver massive concentrations of natural Hyaluronic Acid to the areas that need it most. This helps to replenish the natural Hyaluronic Acid in the skin, which will improve hydration and volume, reduce wrinkles and hollows and produce wonderfully youthful and doughy skin.
Why do some fillers look fake?
There are common and understandable concerns around dermal fillers. There are also many misconceptions regarding these products and treatments. The images of unnatural results, celebrities who have changed beyond recognition, and stories about painful treatments, can be off-putting. However, we like to do things differently. Dermal fillers are safe and can be used to produce very beautiful results. However, when too much volume is used or when filler is placed in the wrong areas of the face, then this can produce strange and unnatural looking results.
