Non-surgical rhinoplasty explained

Non-surgical rhinoplasty is an aesthetic treatment that’s becoming increasingly popular with women and men alike. The demand for this procedure has risen significantly over the past year or so, with many patients choosing it due to its convenience, lack of downtime, fewer side effects, and natural-looking results. Dr Ayad has become world renowned for nonsurgical rhinoplasty using his own technique called the 3-point rhino, which has been featured on live TV, This Morning with Phil and Hollie, as well BBC1’s The Truth About Cosmetic Surgery. Read on to find out more about non-surgical rhinoplasty.

What is non-surgical rhinoplasty?

Non-surgical rhinoplasty is a dermal filler procedure that alters the shape of the nose temporarily. Results usually last several months or in some cases even years. The outpatient procedure is popular with people who want to either smooth out bumps in their nose or make it appear less angular. Non-surgical rhinoplasty is ideal for anyone who wants to change the look of their nose but isn’t ready for a permanent solution or is concerned about the risks and recovery time of traditional rhinoplasty.

Cosmetic surgeons can inject filler above and below the ‘bump’ on the nose, making hooked noses appear straight. By applying filler all around the tip of a nose, they can also make it appear thinner and more refined.

How does the procedure work?

An injectable ingredient (often hyaluronic acid) is inserted under the skin in areas where smoother lines or volume are required. Sometimes Botox is also used too. The filler settles into the layers of deeper skin layers, holding its shape. This can alter the appearance of the nose for anywhere from four months to three years. Often, an anaesthetic is applied to the nose and the surrounding areas, ensuring no pain is felt from the needle. Results depend on various factors, including the type of skin and the ingredient used in the filler.

What are the benefits of non-surgical rhinoplasty?

For anyone who wants to change their nose shape, non-surgical rhinoplasty is often a better alternative to traditional rhinoplasty. Since the procedure doesn’t require surgery, there’s less risk, fewer side effects, and less downtime, but with similar results. The use of dermal fillers allows fantastic results to be achieved in a short period of time, and with very minimal pain experienced. Surgical rhinoplasty can take a month or even longer to recover from, which can have a big impact on someone’s life.

What to expect after treatment

After non-surgical rhinoplasty, you may experience some pain, redness, or swelling, where the injection was inserted. However, within a short period of time, the injection should begin to settle. The redness should subside, and you will be better able to see the results of the treatment. The results should be fully visible within a week or so, with any discolouring or bruising subsiding by then.

You can expect downtime to be minimal, with many people who undergo this treatment appreciating the lack of recovery time compared with a traditional rhinoplasty. In most cases, you can be back to your normal activities the same day.

Non-surgical rhinoplasty is fast becoming the preferred option for people seeking to alter the shape of their nose on a non-permanent basis. With impressive results, few side effects, and minimal downtime, it’s likely that this quick and effective treatment will continue to grow in popularity over the years.
